    Job Description
    We are currently recruiting for a Graduate to work in a support capacity within a small team that are responsible for the development and maintenance of various work support systems used by around 900 staff in the UK. This is a twelve month fixed term contract position working in the Sheffield office with travel to London one day per month and very occasional travel elsewhere. The ideal candidate will have an interest in IT thereby being able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of computers. Although this is not a technical IT role a certain amount of knowledge will be learned



    Key Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
    • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
    • Attention to detail
    • An analytical approach to problems
    • A high standard of written English and the ability to communicate well orally
    • A reasonable knowledge of MS Excel. Preferably some experience of Lotus Notes
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a small team
    • A self starter who does not need constant supervision once trained but recognises when to seek help
    • Understands the concept of working in a professional organisation, and understands the culture of such an organisation


    The Role
    • To help the department maintain the high level of support currently in place to via a database and by telephone.
    • Once trained to be able to deal with queries directly or route them efficiently and effectively
    • To produce statistics and analyse specific information for the team and more widely on a monthly basis
    • To proactively chase and support users on various issues
    • To update ‘help’ material in our support databases to reflect changes in the systems. This material is currently in text and flowcharts.
    • To help senior members of the team with the implementation of projects which support team objectives including performing ‘user acceptance testing’ on system developments and fixes.
    • To help maintain the stability of our systems by regularly carrying out detailed checks and dealing with queries/problems
    • To work towards taking responsibility for various team and project processes
