Our client, a leading international engineering company based in South Yorkshire, is now looking to recruit a Production Buyer to join their rapidly expanding organisation!
THe primary objective of this post is to carry out the effective and efficient procurement of the parts and services required by the manufacturing and spares teams, and to manage the level and value of stock in association with the Purchasing Manager, commensurate with the needs of the business.
KEY OBJECTIVES:
1) Procurement of parts and services using the latest computer based ERP system.
2) Ensure components are available for production and spares as required.
3) Ensure all purchases conform to specification.
4) Reduce total procurement costs to a minimum.
5) Keep inventory to lowest level possible commensurate with the operational needs of the business.
6) Develop and maintain a supplier base consistent with the above aims.
7) To deputise for other Buyers or the department manager in their absence or as required.
