Job Description
Role : Electronics Engineer / Control Systems Engineer
Location : Sheffield
Salary : £25-42,000 according to experience, qualifications
Person Specification
€¢ Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) as a minimum. Preference will be given to candidates with post-graduate level qualifications
€¢ Strong team player
€¢ Able to multi-task, balancing multiple projects at the same time and happy to take ownership of tasks
€¢ Comfortable with both software and hardware
€¢ Live in, or prepared to relocate to the Yorkshire / Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire areas
€¢ Able to live and work in the UK without restriction
Skills Specification
€¢ Proficient with writing embedded software for control systems applications (C, C++,)
€¢ Possess a good understanding of hardware, particularly in relation to PCBs and board design
€¢ Experience of the full life cycle of product development
€¢ DFMEA knowledge beneficial
€¢ Experience of taking products through CE marking advantageous
€¢ SCADA understanding beneficial, especially of the interface between individual product control systems and larger SCADA / DCS systems
€¢ Experience of power supply unit inputs beneficial
€¢ Experience of EMC beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities
€¢ To provide an effective control system software development support service to engineering Project Managers and Product Managers, ensuring that all required software to control products is written accurately and efficiently. This will include developing embedded software from scratch and editing / maintaining software
€¢ To ensure that all technical and design files are kept fully updated from a hardware and software perspective
€¢ To act as the Subject Matter Expert for all electronics engineering on site, including liaising with third party suppliers for matters such as pcb requirements, design and manufacture
€¢ To specify and source components to ensure efficient operation of the control system
