Animal Control and Enforcement Officer

To provide temporary cover until March 2011 in Sheffield. £11.75ph Mon to Fri 9am – 5.30pm (Flexi as some out of hours work maybe required),

To receive requests and reports relating to animal nuisance, stray dogs, littering and fouling offences. To collate and exhibit evidence sufficient to use in court and resolve requests with or without recourse to law. It is also essential to respond to reports of stray dogs swiftly, patrolling and impounding stray dogs, detecting fouling and littering offences and confronting perpetrators.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident at handling dog, familiar with common symptoms of illness and able to determine the need for veterinary assistance. It is preferred that applicants have previous regularity or legal experience.

The contract is until March 2011 is 37hrs per week paid at £11.75ph, 28 days holiday pro rata. To apply please email your CV to Abby@travail.org.uk
