Job Description
My client is a specialist metal company specialising in Tungsten Carbide, (a powder which can be pressed and formed into shapes for use in industrial machinery, tools, abrasives as well as jewellery.
Tungsten Carbide is approx. Three times stiffer than steel and is much denser.
My client is looking for an experienced tooling/Estimator Engineer.
Experience in Tungsten Carbide would be a distict advantage but is not essential
A background in Engineering is essential
Duties will involve –
• Checking new customer enquiries and preparing quotations.
• Consultation with customers regarding quotations / queries when necessary.
• Assessing tooling requirements to complete customer enquires / orders.
• Keep Drawing Register up to date – new drawings and updates.
• Consultation with Shopfloor on tooling / manufacturing techniques when necessary.
• Prepare drawings and layouts using CAD system for customer enquiries / orders.
• Prepare drawings and layouts using CAD system for new and replacement tooling requirements.
• Prepare OPG drawings (CAD & Drawing Board) when necessary.
• Entering and keeping Info-flo system up to date with respect to Manufacturing Routes (Cards), Bills of Materials, Planning and Costings for current and new orders.
• Calculate ‘Planning’ requirements for new, updated and revised works orders.
