We are currently seeking an individual with good organisational skills to join a friendly team who are committed to provide a high quality service to the Trust by ensuring the allocation of complete and accurate clinical codes to patient’s hospital events.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake coding duties by extracting clinical information from hospital records and therefore knowledge of human anatomy/medical terminology would be useful. Methodical working is an essential requirement for this role as accuracy is extremely important.
Candidates should possess 3 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) including English together with 12 months clinical coding experience. They should have undertaken the NHS Connecting for Health accredited training programme and must be willing to study for the Accredited Coder qualification. Previous Medical Records experience would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge of PAS/PFI.
Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and possess good communication skills.
