Our client one of the worlds leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry currently have a position for a Project Engineer.
Role
To lead, control, manage and co-ordinate the engineering content of projects ensuring that all project objectives are met.
Tasks
Responsible for ensuring the engineering content of a project is completed in accordance with the contract programme and budgets.
Providing leadership and co-ordination for all engineering aspects of the project ensuring that the work is technically correct, carried out to the required standards and in accordance with the project specification.
Preparation of project planning and resource requirements for the engineering activities of the project.
Co-ordination and evaluation of subcontracted engineering and supply elements of the project ensuring the equipment meets all project requirements.
Determine the requirements of all the engineering disciplines and co-ordinate the functions to ensure that all relevant engineering data is available in accordance with contract requirements.
To ensure that all engineering performed on the contract is in accordance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
To conduct, record and implement design and safety reviews for the project.
To ensure that all relevant engineering information is recorded in the project file.
Monitor, control and report on engineering progress and expenditure.
Liaise closely with and provide support to all other project functions.
Provision of on site support during the installation and commissioning phases of the project.
To ensure adherence with company policies and procedures.
To advise the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer of any technical or resource problems associate with project activities.
To provide engineering support as required to the proposals and pre-projects departments.
To monitor throughput, quality of work, motivation and morale of team members and to assist in the preparation of staff appraisals.
The following are desirable requirements and experience for the position
Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer status and member of relevant institute
Commercially aware and deadline/target orientated.
Extensive knowledge of relevant technology and product.
Successful experience of installation and commissioning relevant equipment.
Broad based awareness of all engineering disciplines.
Computer Literate with:-
A working knowledge of the Company CAD Systems (AutoCAD, Solid Edge)
Experience of and ability to use the Company IT tools (Microsoft Office, Project and Outlook etc).
