Key Responsibilities
*To support the development of commercial performance management across the Commercial Directorate (CD).
*To ensure that CD becomes an exemplar of good practice and develop products and techniques that can be adopted across all commercial teams
*To track demand and financial impact of commodity consumption and analyse key opportunities for future efficiencies.
*To utilise Oracle resource management to automate financial processes and generate new reporting products and NIS to support strategic commercial decision-making.
*Work in partnership with commercial teams to undertake financial modelling and deliver ad-hoc reports to assess financial return through contract management initiatives.
*To ensure optimum use of e-enabled solutions within this area of work.
*To support the development and promotion of sustainable procurement and use of procurement to promote socially desirable objectives. To ensure compliance with the public sector’s sustainability agenda and any other social priority areas as defined by policy colleagues, as appropriate to this area.
Qualifications:
*Full or part qualified CCAB membership (or internationally recognised equivalents), or a full membership of AAT is required for this role.
Key skills/experience:
*Financial management and analysis experience
*Ideally you will have a commercial background or knowledge of DWP financial systems
*Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel
*Ability to inform financial decisions using financial data
*Strong verbal communication skills-the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues
