    Key responsibilities

    *Development, management of team of team of qualified accountants capable of delivering a first class finance service appropriate to the need of Change and IT Directorate and consistent with DWP Financial Frameworks
    *Ensuring the financial integrity of financial data for projects, products, programmes and the department. Assessing, controlling and reporting risk.
    *Provision of financial advice and monthly ad hoc reports for programme managers, board, project steering committees and external bodies
    *Ensuring appropriate processes and documentation are in place to support financial control of projects/programmes/products ie. ISBAs, gating approval processes, End of Year Flexibility
    *Preparation and presentation of weekly/monthly periodic reviews by Executive Management, Change Control Management and Risk Management. Identifying key financial issues and providing advice
    *Preparation of annual budgets, financial critique and cost models etc for use in business cases and benefits realisation plans. Review of same for approval/non-approval
    *Standardisation and improvement of financial processes
    *Adopt and promote a continuous improvement approach to service improvement, embracing the use of Oracle resource management; leading key financial change management, financial policy and frameworks
    *Management of key stakeholders, including Department level, where appropriate

    Qualifications

    *CCAB Qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA)

    Key skills/experience:

    *Experience of operating at senior management level within a professional finance function
    *Knowledge and experience of Project accounting and reporting, project governance and control, project lifecycle, and preparation of business cases/economic appraisals.
    *Spreadsheet, database and financial modelling skills – intermediate level.
