The role
You will assist in ensuring that departmental expenditure is comprehensively reported against plans, budgets and forecasts to support WWEG financial and business planning You will also ensure that policies are in place to provide guidelines and control over forecasting and spending. You will be required to:
*ensure that WWEG performance management is underpinned by comprehensive and detailed resource management accounts
*manage and develop (build and test) new reports, or amendments to existing reports, in Oracle Discoverer, whilst also managing improvements and maintenance of the end user layer.
*ensure that WWEG performance management is underpinned by comprehensive and detailed resource management accounts
*provide the basis for internal financial analysis to senior stakeholders within the Department, reporting against profiled budgets and support in the setting of forecasts
*help identify corporate financial risks and suggesting related mitigation activities
*specify financial models including appropriate controls to support analysis of the corporate resource position working with the Financial Analysis Manager
*provide support as necessary to the Spending Review process
*working with peers in the Financial Analysis, Planning and Performance team to ensure a consistent view of funding, allocations and forecasts
*assisting the Financial Analysis Manager as necessary in performing the teams objectives
*act as an advisor within WWEG on guidance and issues relating to resource reporting and other finance related issues
The person
You will be looking to take your accounting career forward and have a real impact on the business. This role is for an ambitious part-qualified CCAB qualified accountant who can show:
*experience of working in a financial management function in a large complex organisation
*assisting in influencing outcomes and driving mitigating actions
*proven drafting and communicating skills
*exposure to communicating technical issues to non-technical staff
*experience of Reporting, i.e. Report specification, and report building.
It is also desirable, but not essential that you can show:
*training in Oracle Discoverer Plus
*IT system and data manipulation skills
