Full Description:
We have a vacancy for a TECHNICIAN (JOB REF: TSTEC01) to maintain and operate specialist software and hardware in Languages, Media, Music and Performing Arts. This post is a permanent appointment for college term times only though occasional evening work will be required to assist with the College production and other such events. The vacancy has arisen as a result of the promotion of the previous post-holder.
The main task will be team work with two existing technicians to develop and maintain systems; to ensure that IT based resources are effectively managed within the departments [including SANAKO language laboratories, Cubase, sound and lighting equipment, video editing suites and graphics packages], and to work along side Advanced Level students and their teachers to help them make best use of the resources. The latter is a particularly important aspect of the job description, especially the ability to establish meaningful learning relationships with students.
We are looking to make a complementary appointment, so that the person appointed, like the existing technicians, will have a general knowledge of all these areas, but will specialise in Music/Music Technology & Performing Arts. The post is offered at Scale 3 [£15,598 – £16,681 pro rata] and is tenable with immediate effect.
