Working at senior engineer level, you will be responsible for the output of mechanical design staff on thermal plants producing steam for eventual use in power generation and heat export. The fuel for the plants will be waste derived in the form of sewage sludge, municipal waste, waste wood and other bio solids. Involvement on the turnkey plants will be both at initial bid stages for proposals and detail design stages.
Candidate Profile;
The ideal candidate will have:
•Experience of direct involvement in the administration of large Subcontracts for design, supply and installation of major items of equipment associated with thermal treatment plants. (These will be supplied both from the UK and Europe.)
•Experience of working on turnkey plants in a culture where Health and Safety is paramount.
•Commercial knowledge and ability to understand risks of different technologies.
• Knowledge of a number of the basic processes involved in thermal treatment, such as: Thermal treatment and subsequent heat recovery for production of steam; Boiler water treatment; Flue gas treatment; Residual ash handling; Electrical power production; Heat export
•Detailed knowledge and proven detail design experience of the steam/condensate cycle
•Understanding of the interfaces with other disciplines (civil, electrical, E&I)
The ideal candidate will be educated to BSc level or higher, preferably with chartered status.
