Our new client based in Manvers, Rotherham have asked us to recruit on their behalf ; They are looking for a Senior Applications Engineer.
The main purpose of the role is as follows;
To design and produce products and systems to meet customer requirements and ensure that all products (including medical) and all installations meet the design criteria. Also to provide customers and Manufacturing with technical support and manage a regime of continuous improvement in all aspects of the technical field. Contribute to new product and technology development.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
•Produce designs for company carbon polymer such that product can be manufactured that will perform safely and meet the customer’s requirements.
•Design products, control systems and electrical installations that will perform effectively, safely, meet the customer’s requirements and meet all legislative standards.
•Contribute to the company’s applications engineering activities onsite and offsite where required, taking the lead as appropriate.
•Represent the Company in matters involving project engineering issues in conjunction with customers, suppliers and notified bodies.
•Supervise the manufacture of products and electrical systems to ensure that they meet the design specification; this includes specifying and designing control panels, procuring components, supervising build and installation.
•Ensure that the Manufacturing Team has the correct information to produce company products and that design history and change is managed correctly.
•Work with the Operations Team to ensure successful customer project completions and, where required, plan and manage entire projects.
•Provide the sales team and customers with technical support and assist the sales force in securing customer orders as necessary.
•Work with Manufacturing to help implement and improve manufacturing techniques.
•Understand the mechanics and applications of organisation’s technology and work to develop and improve methods of application and manufacture.
•Be responsible for the clear organisation and effective implementation of customer documentation.
•Be actively involved in new product design and development work.
Required Experience:
•Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering
•Significant experience designing electrical control panels.
•Experience of installation, commissioning and fault finding on electrical control systems.
•AutoCAD experience essential.
•Some experience of liaising and negotiating with customers on technical issues.
•Experience of programming PLC systems would be an advantage.
•Qualified to 16th Edition electrical regulations would be an advantage.
