THE ROLE:
Working for this market leading main contractor in the mechanical and electrical contracting industry, as Mechanical Contracts Manager you will have full control over some of the leading mechanical developments in the industry today.

Managing a variety of mechanical installation projects across the region, you will have full control over sub contractor procurement, general site set up, cost controls etc and play an integral role in ensuring mechanical projects run on time and to budget.

The main responsibilities of the position are to:

Due to current expansion and future growth I have a vacancy for an Internal Sales Person / Account Manager to join a family business in Sheffield. Based in the Meadowhall area, they are very well served by public transport (both bus and tram) and also have ample free car parking for employees.

The skill set that they are looking for will include the following :-

+ Excellent interpersonal skills - the ideal candiate will have extensive experience of dealing with clients from either a customer service, account management or sales perspective (Internal or external sales)

+ A good technical aptitude. The strong preference here is for someone with an understanding of either metals production and processing, or of metallurgy / material science. 

+ You MUST already have the right to live and work in the UK without restriction

This is not a hard sell, target driven environment ; the key is dealing with all current and prospective customers in a professional manner. As the organsiation is fairly small (although it is certainly profitable !!) you will also need to have a &amp;quot;muck-in&amp;quot; attitude whereby you are more than happy to roll your sleeves up and get involved wherever your abilities may be needed. 

Salary is negotiable according to experience but is likely to be in the range of £18-25,000. The is also a discretionary bonus scheme based on the profitability of the company. 

Over time, the successful candidate will also be expected to travel occassionally to meet with customers wherever in the world they may be and to ensure that all their requirements are met.

	This position is responsible for managing, developing, and reporting on the quality systems and processes within the supply base in support of TS16949 quality systems requirements with special regard to the APQP and PPAP functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:


1)	Manage suppliers through the AIAG’s APQP, and PPAP processes in reference to TS16949 and QS9000 requirements.

2)	Proactively lead problem solving activities for supplier issues. Co-ordinate the resolution of concerns via the concern management system from receipt of the customer/internal concern through to verification of the countermeasures including:	
•	Raising the Concern Countermeasure Reports (CCR’s)
•	Liasing with the customer and production personnel on problem definition and extent, countermeasures and feedback of both.
•	Facilitating the problem investigation through the process to the implementation and verification of robust, engineered countermeasures.
•	Ensuring all CCR’s are satisfactorily completed, closed off and communicated in a timely manner.  Should the CCR need extra time, communicate with Quality Manager and Purchasing Manager for formal extension.
•	Monitoring and reporting of Supplier and Internal Quality statistics.

3)	To liase with Suppliers and internal personnel on Quality Standards including training of:

•	Boundary samples
•	Inspection work instructions
•	Customer attribute and dimensional standards
•	International standards

4)	Support and lead supplier development and ensure documentation supports activities, and be proactively instrumental in driving process improvement activities, concentrating on quality consistency, but giving consideration to process efficiencies and effectiveness.  Especially focussing on zero-defect methodology whilst introducing new product.

5)	To assist in the implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) including:
•	Analysis of charts
•	Calculation of capability
•	Performing capability studies
•	Advising on how to correct Out of Control Conditions (OOC)

6)	Through the analysis of data (e.g. Pareto), be instrumental and influential in managing the continual reduction of defects with Zero defects being the prime objective.

7)	Conduct process/product audits on a scheduled routine to provide ongoing quality assurance.

8)	Provide ongoing support to supplier's quality, cost, and delivery objectives. 

9)	Represent the change control processes with the supply base, ensuring timely and cost effective implementations, and ensure smooth transition of APQP data into PPAP submission

10)	Provide training or identify training needs within the supply base to ensure the supplier's success. 

11)	Support plant level quality issues as they occur, working proactively to make certain issues do not occur with other products/suppliers. 

12)	Monitor the supplier part qualification and certification process, providing regular updates to the project teams. 

13)	Review and approve all necessary documentation for initial sample submissions including APQP, customer specific documents, and any other required documentation. 

14)	Initiate product improvements, cost reductions, and product quality improvements. 

15)	To carry out any other tasks as required ensuring the efficient running of the Quality Department.


	Open to experience

Qualifications:

	Certificate in Industrial Management, OND Electrical &amp;amp; Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Previous Experience

	3+ years experience in Quality Engineering within an automotive manufacturing environment (Essential)
	Supplier Quality experience preferred

Further Training

	Quality Tools and Techniques 

Typical Knowledge and Awareness Requirements

	Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including; TS-16949, QS-9000, ISO14001, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DoE, and SPC.
